Moving forward
Change in governance in 2020
In 2020, the conclusion was that the CTA has continued to change and is considered to be a more strategic organization.
- Relationships with funding parties have become even stronger.
- Management has more responsibilities as they took on many of the Vice President’s initial responsibilities. It is very efficient.
- The organization now sees an overlap between some of the President’s and ED’s responsibilities.
- This situation leads to a loss of efficiency and creates confusion about who is really in charge and who should do what.
Moving forward, the President should:
- Occupy a role of CTA representative;
- Sit on key committees; and
- Play an advocate’s role.
- This is the way it is done in other Cree organizations.
The President would:
- Be appointed
- No longer be present everyday at the office
- Not be involved in daily affairs since it is the Executive Director’s role.
- Be called upon on a needs basis for her/his expertise.
